When Teacher’s day is celebrated?

Teachers’ Day in India is celebrated on 5th September to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice- President, and second President of independent India. He was born on 5 September, 1888.

Teacher’s Day is celebrated to acknowledge the challenges, hardships, and special roles that teachers play in our lives. 

 

Why do we celebrate Teacher’s day / History

When some of his students visited Dr. Radhakrishna to wish him a happy birthday in 1962,. He urged them to observe this day (September 5) as a way to honor all of India’s legendary teachers as they guide and educate the brightest minds of the country.
